Russian defence chief inspects fulfillment of state order at Almaz-Antey's enterprise

Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu has inspected the workshops for the production of modern surface-to-air guided missiles for air defence systems.

Director General of Almaz-Antey Concern Yan Novikov informed Shoigu of the programmes being implemented to expand the production capacity for providing the Russian troops with modern air defence systems, Caliber.Az reports, citing the message posted on the Russian Defence Ministry’s website.

He added that “the creation of new production facilities will make it possible to double the capacity of the enterprise”.

Shoigu pointed to the need to shorten the timeframe for commissioning the Concern's new production facilities by synchronising the installation of equipment and commissioning work.

“I walk around the enterprises and see that production sites will be launched in two to three months. A machine is working at the same time, assembly is going on and the next one is being set up at the same time,” the minister noted.

Novikov briefed the minister that the corporation greatly increased production under the state defence order across the entire range of products in 2023. He stressed that the enterprise is ahead of schedule with its products. Air defence systems, including S-300 Favorit, S-400 Triumf, S-350 Vityaz, have high efficiency in destroying an enemy’s air targets.

The minister noted that the products manufactured by Almaz-Antey are in demand and have high efficiency within the special military operation.
