Russian deputy PM: Armenia one step away from lifting transport blockade

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk has said that Armenia is one step away from lifting the transport blockade, which is holding back economic growth.

"Armenia is well aware that a transport blockade hinders further economic growth. Today we are one step away from its removal," Overchuk said on September 29, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports on its website.

He noted that the prospects for overcoming transport isolation, and restoration of economic and transport ties in the region would give a strong impetus to the development of Armenia, the entire South Caucasus and adjacent countries, including Russia.
