Russian drone attacks hit Kharkiv region, injure civilians Photo
Russian forces carried out a series of drone strikes across Ukraine’s Kharkiv region over the past 24 hours, injuring two civilians and damaging residential and civilian infrastructure, regional authorities said.
According to Oleh Synehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, the city of Kharkiv and five surrounding settlements came under attack. In the village of Khotimlia, part of the Starosaltivska community, two women aged 20 and 52 were injured as a result of shelling, Caliber.Az reports.
In Kharkiv city, Russian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) struck the Nemyshlyanskyi, Shevchenkivskyi and Slobozhanskyi districts. Authorities reported damage to an apartment building and two civilian vehicles.
Synehubov said Russian forces used a wide range of drones during the attacks, including three Geran-2 drones, one Lancet loitering munition, five Molniya drones, one FPV drone, and 22 drones of unidentified types.
Elsewhere in the region, civilian infrastructure sustained further damage. In the Bohodukhiv district, a bus stop was destroyed in the village of Karasivka. In the Kupiansk district, two private homes and power lines were damaged in Novoselivka, while a civilian car was hit in Velykyi Burluk. In the Chuhuiv district, attacks damaged a private house, two shops and three vehicles in the villages of Khotimlia and Novyi Burluk.
The transit evacuation center in the city of Lozova received 60 people over the past day. Since the facility began operating, a total of 17,832 evacuees have been registered, regional officials said.
On the battlefield, Ukrainian military sources reported 179 combat engagements over the same period. In the South Sloboda direction, Russian troops launched 11 assaults on Ukrainian positions near Staritsa, Vovchansk, and the settlements of Prylipka, Vilcha, Hrafskе, Vovchanski Khutory and Kutkivka. Ukrainian forces also repelled six Russian attacks in the Kupiansk direction, near Zahryzove, Kurylivka, Pishchane and Kupiansk.
Photographs released by local authorities from the village of Khotimlia show extensive damage to residential buildings, confirming the impact of the latest strikes.
