Russian fighter jet skids and crashes into pole in Yerevan PHOTO
24 August 2025 12:59
In the early hours of August 24, a Russian military aircraft was involved in an incident in Armenia’s capital.
At around 2:15 a.m. local time, a fighter jet collided with a metal pole and then struck a road barrier on Arshakunyats Avenue in Yerevan, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
Preliminary reports indicate that no one was injured. Traffic on the road section leading to Erebuni Airport was temporarily blocked by patrol units and the Military Police of the Armenian Ministry of Defence.
Sources say the incident occurred due to a technical malfunction during transport: the fighter jet slipped off its platform after a hitch broke.
