Chinese car brands’ share in Russia falls below 50% for first time in over two years
In October 2025, Chinese automotive brands accounted for 49.6% of the Russian car market, marking the first time their market share has fallen below 50% in more than two years, according to the Autostat analytical agency.
Experts reported that 82,200 new Chinese-brand passenger cars were sold in Russia last month. Chinese brands first crossed the 50% market share threshold in July 2023 and continued to expand their presence until mid-2025. However, the trend began reversing in July 2025, with market share gradually declining, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
Autostat analysts attribute the slowdown to the rising popularity of Chinese-made cars produced under local Russian brands, which are increasingly capturing consumer interest.
