Georgia to outpace EU candidate countries in average economic growth Forecast
Georgia’s projected average economic growth is 1.7 times higher than that of EU candidate countries, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Vakhtang Tsintsadze said, commenting on the European Commission’s 2025 Autumn Economic Forecast.
According to the European Commission’s report “European Economic Forecast”, Georgia’s economy is expected to remain strong in 2025, growing by 7.3%, before moderating to 5–5.5% in 2026–2027, Caliber.Az reports, citing Georgian media.
Tsintsadze noted that the EU’s growth rate for 2025 is forecast at 1.4%, compared with 7.3% for Georgia.
He added that this trend is expected to continue in the coming years: from 2025 to 2027, Georgia’s economy is projected to grow on average by 5.9%, EU candidate countries by 3.4%, and the EU as a whole by 1.4%.
