Media: Russia's Ryazan rocked by nighttime blasts after drone threat alert video
Residents of Ryazan reported hearing a series of loud explosions overnight on November 20, following an earlier announcement in the city warning of a possible drone threat.
RBC-Ukraine, citing posts on Russian social media, noted that messages about powerful blasts began appearing on local public channels shortly after 2 a.m. Locals also claimed to have seen unidentified drones flying over both the city and the surrounding region.
The Telegram channel Exilenova+ shared multiple videos showing explosions in Ryazan and suggested that the incident might have involved an attack on a local oil refinery.
Ryazan region governor Pavel Malkov later stated that air defence and electronic warfare units had intercepted and destroyed several unmanned aerial vehicles during the night. According to him, debris from the downed drones ignited a fire on the grounds of an industrial facility. Preliminary reports indicated no casualties, and an assessment of property damage is ongoing.
Malkov added that drone fragments landed in several parts of the city, but no workers suffered injuries or serious harm. Emergency responders are currently operating at the affected sites.
