Armenian president: Peace with Azerbaijan could make South Caucasus logistics hub
Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan has said that lasting peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, alongside the implementation of regional projects, could turn the South Caucasus into a major logistics centre.
Speaking at a joint press briefing with his Georgian counterpart, Mikheil Kavlashvili, Khachaturyan highlighted discussions on regional issues, the provisions of the peace agreement between Baku and Yerevan, and economic cooperation, Caliber.Az reports per Georgian media.
The agreement was initialled on August 8 in Washington.
“Very important is our cooperation, grounded in sovereignty, identity, and mutual respect. I am confident that peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and the implementation of corresponding projects, will transform the South Caucasus into a logistics hub. Ensuring prosperity is our shared responsibility,” Khachaturyan said.
The leaders also addressed current political developments and emphasised the importance of maintaining stability in the region amid a rapidly changing international order.
