Russian filmmaker Sergey Politik fatally stabbed outside Moscow home PHOTO
Russian filmmaker and cinematographer Sergey Politik has been stabbed to death outside his apartment building in Moscow following an altercation with a man, according to local media reports.
The 56-year-old reportedly confronted a young man behaving suspiciously near the entrance of his building on Stalevarov Street, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
The exchange quickly escalated, and the assailant allegedly attacked Politik with a knife, inflicting a fatal wound to his chest. The filmmaker was taken to the hospital but later died from his injuries.
Investigators have launched a criminal case on charges of causing grievous bodily harm resulting in death.
Russian outlets, citing law enforcement sources, said the suspect has been identified as a 33-year-old Armenian national born in 1992. Police are currently searching for him.
Sergey Politik was a well-known cinematographer and director of photography, best known for his work on the popular television series Closed School (Zakrytaya Shkola) and the films The Shield of Minerva.
