Russia intensified its spring offensive, launching 150 drones overnight; Ukraine's air force intercepted 64, while another 62 failed to reach their targets, likely due to electronic countermeasures.
On April 30, the U.S. and Ukraine signed a landmark minerals agreement, granting the U.S. preferential access to Ukrainian mineral deals in exchange for funding Ukraine's reconstruction. The deal, signed by U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Ukraine’s First Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, allows Ukraine to retain ownership of its resources while establishing a joint Reconstruction Investment Fund.
Despite ongoing Russian attacks on energy infrastructure, Ukraine reduced electricity imports by 31% in April compared to March, attributed to warmer weather and partial restoration of power facilities.
