Russian FSB uncovers plot to kill military enlistment office employee

A man has been detained in Russia’s Krasnodar for preparing a terrorist attack targeting an employee of a military enlistment office, with plans to flee to Georgia afterward, Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) said.

The alleged plot was revealed through correspondence between the suspect and a purported “Ukrainian handler,” excerpts of which were shown in an FSB video, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

During their exchange, the handler, identified as Roman, instructed the suspect to leave for Georgia following the planned attack.

“You will then need to leave for Georgia for a month,” the handler wrote while discussing the operation.

The suspect expressed support for Ukraine and assured his contact that he would carry out the assigned task.

“I am a responsible person,” he wrote.

According to the correspondence, the suspect kept an explosive device at his home and referred to it as a “toy.” He also expressed concern that the device could detonate prematurely.

“The main thing is that it doesn’t detonate on me,” he wrote.

The alleged handler emphasized that the operation had been carefully prepared and warned the suspect not to fail.

“This operation has been in preparation for a long time. Don’t let us down,” he wrote, adding that “they know the serviceman’s route.”
