Russian gymnast Ilya Zaika added to Ukraine’s Myrotvorets database

Russian gymnast Ilya Zaika has been added to the database of the Ukrainian website Myrotvorets, according to information published on the site.

The 24-year-old is accused of attempting to undermine Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, deliberately violating the country’s state border and supporting Russia’s “special military operation”, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

Zaika is a three-time Russian champion on the rings.

In September, he performed a new rings element during a qualification event in Paris. The element was recognised by the International Gymnastics Federation and named “Zaika”, with a difficulty rating of 0.8 points in Group H.

He later won the rings competition.

Myrotvorets was established in 2014 and maintains a database of personal information on people, including journalists, artists and politicians, who have visited Crimea and Donbas or have otherwise attracted negative attention from the website’s authors.
