Russian humanitarian aid delivered to Iran via Azerbaijan

A cargo train operated by Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations has departed from the Astara border crossing, carrying humanitarian assistance to Iran.

The train consists of 31 wagons and is transporting more than 300 tonnes of humanitarian supplies, local media reports.

Earlier, on March 12, over 13 tonnes of humanitarian aid — including medicines and medical equipment — were sent to Iran by Russia’s emergency services, also transiting through Azerbaijani territory.
