Russian-Iranian cooperation agreement stalled over Iranian issues
Negotiations between Moscow and Tehran for a comprehensive cooperation agreement have hit a roadblock due to challenges faced by Iranian counterparts, leading to a temporary suspension of the process.
According to reports from Russian media cited by Caliber.Az, Zamir Kabulov, Director of the Second Department of Asia at the Russian Foreign Ministry, addressed the issue, stating, "This is a strategic decision made by the leadership of both countries. Understandably, the process has been put on hold due to difficulties with our Iranian partners."
Despite the setback, Kabulov expressed confidence that the work will resume and reach completion once the text of the agreement is finalized. Following this, the leaders of Russia and Iran will determine the time and location for the signing.
