Russian lawmaker accuses Finland of indirect involvement in drone attacks
A senior Russian lawmaker has accused Finland of indirectly participating in drone attacks on Russian territory “through Ukraine,” escalating rhetoric amid ongoing regional tensions.
Alexey Chepa, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, emphasized that Kyiv is using the territory of third countries to launch drone strikes targeting St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region.
According to Chepa, the alleged tactic is linked to the high number of Ukrainian drones intercepted by Russian defences. He argued that Ukraine is seeking alternative launch points to sustain its operations.
Chepa further claimed that such actions constitute a violation of international agreements. He added that any involvement by Finland in facilitating these operations would render the country an “active participant” in the attacks.
