Russian lawmaker calls for intensified attacks on Ukrainian targets
A senior Russian lawmaker has called for a significant escalation of strikes against Ukraine’s military-industrial facilities following a reported Ukrainian attack on Novorossiysk.
Alexey Zhuravlev, first deputy chairman of the State Duma’s defence committee, said current Russian strikes on Ukrainian military targets were insufficient and should be intensified, Caliber.Az reports, citing News.ru.
“It turns out that the strikes currently being carried out by the Russian Armed Forces on Ukrainian military facilities are clearly not enough. The raids need to be increased severalfold,” he said.
The MP noted that they should strike command centres as well, including those from which orders are issued.
He added that it is “well known where Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his entourage are currently located,” suggesting it was time to “teach them a lesson.”
Zhuravlev also argued that Russia appeared to be acting under a “do no harm” principle, taking measures “slightly less extensive than desired.”
In this regard, he urged authorities “not to hesitate and strike at full force.”
