Russian leader: Soon 25% of our gas supplies to Türkiye to be paid in rubles

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that an agreement on the payment for 25 per cent of Russian gas supplies to Türkiye in rubles is expected to come into force in the near future.

"Our agreement on the supply of natural gas of Russian origin to Türkiye with the payment of 25 per cent of these supplies in Russian rubles should work soon," the Russian president said at a meeting with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday, TASS reports.

"The issues, as far as I understand, have been agreed upon, so the work in this regard, I believe, will take place in accordance with our agreements," Putin said.

"We are ready to significantly increase our supplies to the Republic of Türkiye in all directions that are of interest to you," the Russian leader addressed Erdogan.
