Russian MFA accuses France of provoking conflict in South Caucasus
Paris is instigating another round of armed confrontation in the South Caucasus through various means, stated Maria Zakharova, the Russian Foreign Ministry's Spokesperson.
Her comments, cited by Caliber.Az, came in response to a contract for the supply of military equipment from France to Armenia.
"This is yet another step. We have previously discussed this, and now we see further confirmation. The French leadership is not acting in the interests of Armenia or any particular nation. Instead, Paris aims to exploit existing disagreements and contradictions within or between countries to achieve its own opportunistic goals," Zakharova stated.
She further elaborated that these goals are not only aligned with the personal interests of the Élysée Palace but also with France's role as a proponent of NATO ideology. "This is the context in which it should be understood," she added.
