Russian MFA spox: Azerbaijani embassy guard fought like a lion

"An Azerbaijani embassy guard in Iran fought like a lion," Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova wrote commenting on video footage of an armed attack on the Azerbaijani diplomatic mission in Tehran.

An armed attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in the Islamic Republic of Iran was committed on January 27 at about 8:30 (GMT+4).

The attacker broke through to the security post and killed the head of the security service by using a Kalashnikov assault rifle.

Two embassy security guards were injured while repulsing the attack.
