Russian Mi-8 helicopter crashes during routine flight, crew killed Video

A Russian military helicopter has crashed during a scheduled flight in the Oryol region, resulting in the deaths of all crew members on board, officials said.

The Mi-8 helicopter went down in an uninhabited area, according to a statement from the press office of the Moscow Military District, Caliber.Az reports.

“There were no casualties or damage on the ground. Preliminary findings suggest the crash was caused by a technical malfunction,” the statement said.

A special commission from the Russian Aerospace Forces has been dispatched to the crash site to investigate the incident.

The Mi-8 is a Soviet-designed multi-role helicopter widely used by the Russian military for transport and support missions.
