Russian MP: Ukraine returns bodies of 38 soldiers
Russian MP and representative of the parliamentary coordination group on military operations Shamsail Saraliev has said that Ukraine returned the bodies of 38 Russian servicemen to Russia.
"The exchange is being carried out through the Russian Defence Ministry, and 38 bodies have been returned," Saraliev stated, Caliber.Az reports citing the Russian media.
The exchange was confirmed by the Ukrainian Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War. The headquarters reported receiving bodies from various regions, including the Luhansk People's Republic, Kherson region, and Mariupol. The headquarters also noted that international organizations were involved in organizing the exchange. The bodies will be sent to forensic experts to establish identities before being handed over to their families for burial.
Such exchanges occur almost every month. In May, 212 bodies were returned to Ukraine, and 250 in June. Correspondingly, Russia received the bodies of 45 and 32 deceased individuals during these months.
