Russian Northern Fleet warships pass English Channel

The Russian Navy's cruiser Marshal Ustinov and the large anti-submarine ship Vice Admiral Kulakov pass through the English Channel (the strait between Great Britain and France).

The passage of the strait was carried out in compliance with all norms of international maritime law and ensuring the safety of navigation, Interfax reports citing Russia's Northern Fleet.

"In the seas of the Atlantic Ocean, the ships of the Northern Fleet have been operating since August 26. Sailors from the North Sea conduct planned exercises on various types of protection and defence of a detachment of ships at the passage by sea along the transit route," the report says.
