Russian official calls out Macron's hypocrisy regarding France's stance on Russia
The head of the Federation Council Commission on Information Policy and Media Relations, Alexei Pushkov, criticized French President Emmanuel Macron's recent remarks on France's relationship with Russia.
Pushkov accused Macron of hypocrisy, emphasizing that despite Macron's assertion that Paris is not at war with Russia, sending French military forces to engage with Russian forces would effectively escalate the situation, per Lenta.ru.
"Macron's demagogy is empty and hypocritical. And, most importantly, it does not change the essence of the matter: if he sends his military to fight the Russian military, he will turn France into a country at war against Russia and its people," he said.
Pushkov also highlighted reports from Chinese sources suggesting that French troops had already been deployed to Ukraine.
