Russian official confirms complexity of investigation into PMC Wagner’s plane crash
Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov has commented on the progress of the investigation into PMC Wagner Cheif Yevgeny Prigozhin's plane crash.
“The Kremlin does not believe that the incident is being investigated slowly. This is not a simple investigation, a simple incident. It would be early to give any comments now,” he noted, Gazeta.ru reports.
Earlier, the Kremlin stated that the investigation into the plane crash with a private Embraer Legacy plane in the Tver region would not be conducted in an international format. The case is being conducted by the Russian Investigative Committee.
Peskov has said that it is quite possible that there was a “deliberate crime” that caused the plane crash.
The information went viral on August 23 evening that a private Embraer Legacy plane belonging to founder of the Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin crashed. The plane was heading from Moscow to St. Petersburg. The plane crashed near the Kuzhenkino settlement in the Tver region. Later, the Russian Investigative Committee stated that the results of a genetic testing confirmed that the founder of the Wagner PMC was on board.
