Russian official reaffirms Taiwan as "integral part" of China
Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Russian Security Council, has reiterated that Taiwan is an "organic and integral part" of China.
He expressed this view in an article for Russian media, Caliber.Az reports.
Medvedev emphasized that any attempts to establish Taiwanese statehood, language, or nationhood are unsustainable. “Taiwan is an organic and integral part of the all-Chinese space, an administrative unit of the People's Republic of China,” he wrote.
In November, Chen Binhua, spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, warned that Taiwan's pursuit of independence, with support from the United States, would ultimately lead to a “sorrowful finale.”
On October 16, Chen Binhua also reiterated China’s stance, asserting that the country would not rule out the use of force against Taiwan. He further stated that any escalation of the conflict by Taiwan could result in its complete annihilation.
Previously, the Chinese Foreign Ministry criticized the United States for its sale of arms to Taiwan, condemning it as an interference in China's internal affairs.
