Russian official says US nuclear proposal contrary to NPT
Russia’s representative to international organisations in Vienna has criticised a U.S. demand regarding Iran’s nuclear programme, arguing it undermines global non-proliferation rules.
“Why should Iran accept this US demand? It goes contrary to the NPT. Looks like Washington does not care at all about maintaining the integrity of the nuclear non-proliferation regime,” Mikhail Ulyanov wrote on X, Caliber.Az reports.

Ulyanov’s remarks came in response to reporting that Iran is willing to suspend uranium enrichment for a shorter period than the 20-year moratorium proposed by the United States, but has rejected the dismantling of its nuclear facilities.
