Russian police detain teenager in suspected railway sabotage incident
A teenager has been detained in Saint Petersburg, Russia, on suspicion of setting fire to a transformer.
A criminal case has been opened under Article 205 (“Terrorist Act”) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
According to the agency, a 15-year-old local resident is suspected of involvement in the arson of a transformer substation at a railway station. He allegedly used a container filled with a flammable liquid. The act was reportedly carried out on the instructions of an unknown handler who issued the order via a messaging application.
During operational search measures, police officers, with the support of the OMON “Baltika” special unit of the Russian National Guard, detained the suspect.
