Russian pundit comments on Yerevan's rising Russophobia

03 October 2023 15:41

"The moment of truth has come for Armenia and for Russia about Armenia," Russian political scientist Modest Kolerov said.

He was commenting on the Armenian parliament's ratification of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court requiring the extradition and arrest of Vladimir Putin, Caliber.Az reports.

"Yerevan's statement that this does not concern Putin is nothing more than a lie. And Yerevan knows it. And it deliberately rhymes this decision with its announced withdrawal from the CSTO and with its accusations against Russian peacekeepers in Garabagh," he said.

He drew attention to the fact that this became possible despite that "Pashinyan first, after the defeat of 2020, settled 100 thousand Armenians in Garabagh, made them hostages, and now evicted them from there."

"Yerevan's Russophobia will grow. But this is not news," Kolerov added.

On October 3, the Armenian parliament ratified the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. The document must now be signed by the Armenian president, after which it will come into force in 60 days.
