Russian Red Cross sends five tonnes of humanitarian aid to Iran
The Russian Red Cross (RRC) has sent five tonnes of humanitarian aid to Iran, including medical supplies and essential items, RRC head Pavel Savchuk said in an interview with TASS.
“The Dagestan regional branch [of the RRC], together with local branches and with the support of the Russian Red Cross and government authorities, organised the collection of humanitarian aid. A total of five tonnes of aid for Iran was gathered and delivered to the Iranian Red Crescent Society, which is responsible for receiving humanitarian assistance within the country,” the RRC chairman said.
He specified that the shipment consists of medical supplies and basic necessities.
At the end of March, the Iranian Red Crescent Society reported that the number of civilian facilities in Iran damaged as a result of US and Israeli aggression had exceeded 105,000.
