Russian regions warned of elevated fire risk

Three regions of Russia are expected to face a heightened risk of wildfires on Saturday, April 11, according to the national weather service.

The warning was issued by Marina Makarova, a senior specialist at the Hydrometeorological Centre of Russia, according to TASS.

The advisory applies to Novgorod Oblast, Volgograd Oblast, and the southern part of Zabaykalsky Krai.

“There will also be strong winds, so caution is necessary,” she added.
