Russian soldier killed in Armenia

A 22-year-old Russian soldier, Roman Shaternikov, was rushed to a medical centre in Gyumri, Armenia, around 14:00 yesterday with a fatal gunshot wound received during military exercises at the 102nd Russian military base's Kamkhut training area, Caliber.Az reports citing Armenian media.

Armen Khachatryan, the deputy director of the Gyumri medical facility, said that the serviceman had arrived dead.

He said he was shot in the neck and left side of the body.

It is not yet known under what circumstances the Russian serviceman received a fatal bullet wound.
