Russian troops destroy 25 Ukrainian drones in various directions
On the night of June 27 to 28, Russian air defence forces successfully intercepted and destroyed 25 Ukrainian drones across several regions including Bryansk, Voronezh, Kursk, Rostov, and Smolensk.
The breakdown includes 12 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) destroyed in the Bryansk region, 9 in the Smolensk region, 1 in the Voronezh region, 2 in the Kursk region, and 1 intercepted in the Rostov region, Caliber.Az reports citing the Russian Defence Ministry.
Governor Alexander Bogomaz of Kursk Region confirmed three UAV interceptions overnight, with one drone causing damage to an administrative building before being neutralised with electronic warfare systems.
Additionally, Governor Maxim Egorov of the Tambov region reported a drone strike on an oil depot in Michurinsky municipal district, resulting in a fire that was promptly contained. Evacuation plans were prepared if necessary, despite the nearest settlement being 3 kilometres away from the depot.
Ukraine, which has been facing a Russian offensive for over two years, regularly launches attacks targeting Russian energy and defence sites in response to strikes on its territory.
