Russian troops take control of Avdiivka industrial zone in Ukraine

Russian troops have taken control of the industrial zone of Avdiivka, knocking out the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) from there.

“Tonight the Avdiivka industrial plant is finally completely liberated from the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” Military correspondent Yuri Kotenok wrote on his Telegram channel, Gazeta.ru reports.

According to him, the Ukrainian Armed Forces had been there since 2014. He noted that the Ukrainian side confirmed this information calling it a serious blow for Kyiv.

Kotenok added that the industrial zone is an important part of the entire Avdiivka fortified area, which was claimed to be impregnable.
