Russian, Turkish presidents focus on Middle East tensions, regional security
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a phone conversation, addressing escalating tensions in the Middle East and regional security concerns.
During the call, Putin expressed appreciation for Erdogan’s readiness to support the negotiation process regarding the conflict in Ukraine, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
The presidents noted that the escalation around Iran is causing negative impacts, particularly on energy markets, and emphasized the urgency of a swift ceasefire in the Persian Gulf region.
They also explored ways to further strengthen Russian-Turkish political ties and expand trade and economic cooperation.
Additionally, Putin and Erdogan underscored the importance of coordinating actions in response to Kyiv’s attempts to target gas pipelines in the Black Sea, highlighting ongoing regional security challenges.
