Saudi and UK prime ministers discuss regional security in phone call

Saudi Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud held a phone conversation with newly appointed UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham, during which the two leaders discussed the regional situation.

Mohammed bin Salman congratulated Burnham on taking office, wished him success in his new role, and highlighted the strong ties between Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom. Burnham, in turn, thanked the Saudi crown prince for his congratulations, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

During the conversation, the British prime minister condemned Houthi attacks and threats to freedom of navigation in the Red Sea, reaffirming the United Kingdom's support for Saudi Arabia's security and sovereignty.

The two leaders also discussed the further development of bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on a range of regional and international issues of mutual interest.
