Security and reform agenda dominate Armenia–US defence meeting
Armenian Defence Minister Suren Papikyan held a meeting with Acting US Ambassador to Armenia David Allen to discuss bilateral cooperation in the defence sector.
According to Armenian media, citing a statement from the Armenian Ministry of Defence press service, reported by Caliber.Az, the discussions focused on Armenian-American defence cooperation, including military-technical interaction and the development of training and professional exchange programs between the armed forces.
The sides also addressed the organisation of joint exercises.
During the meeting, Papikyan emphasised the importance of cooperation with the United States at a time when Armenia is implementing active defence reforms. In turn, Allen reaffirmed Washington’s readiness to support both the expansion of defence cooperation and Armenia’s ongoing reform process.
The participants also exchanged views on regional and international security issues, the ministry said in its statement.
