Security chief: Armenia and Azerbaijan hold differing positions on some issues

Armenia and Azerbaijan have aligned on many key issues, though some differences remain, the Armenian Security Council secretary has said.

Speaking at a panel discussion in Doha alongside Azerbaijan’s presidential aide Hikmet Hajiyev, Armen Grigoryan said that while the two countries previously debated conflicting narratives, there is now significant common ground, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.

“Some positions of Yerevan and Baku do not coincide, but both sides are committed to strengthening cooperation to ensure the best possible future,” Grigoryan said.

He added that political will from both sides is essential and that the international community can play a supportive role in building lasting peace.
