Serbian leader to hold high-level negotiations in Astana this week
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić is set to pay an official visit to Kazakhstan this week at the invitation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, according to the presidential press service.
The visit will take place on February 26–27 and will include full-scale high-level negotiations between the two leaders.
During the talks, the presidents are expected to review the current state and future prospects of Kazakh-Serbian relations, with particular focus on strengthening political dialogue, expanding trade and economic cooperation, and deepening cultural and humanitarian ties. “The heads of state will discuss the state and prospects of Kazakh-Serbian relations with an emphasis on further strengthening political dialogue, expanding trade and economic ties, and cultural and humanitarian cooperation,” the Kazakh presidential press service said.
The upcoming visit follows continued diplomatic engagement between the two countries. On February 15, Tokayev congratulated Vučić on Serbia’s Statehood Day, noting in a telegram that Kazakhstan highly values its strong relationship with Serbia, which is built on sincere friendship and shared aspirations.
Earlier, in May 2025, the two leaders met in Moscow, where they reaffirmed their commitment to implementing previously reached agreements and agreed to maintain dialogue on bilateral and international issues.
