Seven Azerbaijani citizens evacuated from Iran
Seven Azerbaijani citizens have been evacuated from Iran as hostilities intensify following joint U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iranian territory.
According to official information, the evacuation took place between 08:00 and 20:00 local time, with all seven citizens safely returning to Azerbaijan from the neighbouring country, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The move comes after Israel, together with the United States, launched strikes inside Iran on the morning of February 28. In response, Iran fired missiles at Israeli territory and carried out attacks on U.S. military bases located in Persian Gulf countries.
The escalation has heightened instability across the Middle East, prompting several countries in the region to temporarily close their airspace as a precautionary measure.
Meanwhile, Russia and China have requested an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council over the U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran.
