Seventeen detained in bribery probe at Türkiye's Antalya municipality

A new anti-corruption operation has been launched targeting allegations of bribery within Antalya Metropolitan Municipality in Türkiye.

Seventeen individuals have been detained in connection with the investigation, all facing charges related to bribery, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media. 

This latest operation follows an earlier crackdown in July, during which Muhittin Böcek, the mayor of Antalya and a member of the Republican People's Party (CHP), was taken into custody and subsequently arrested on bribery charges.

Authorities continue to investigate the extent of the corruption within the municipality as the case unfolds.
