Shooting at Dallas ICE facility leaves one dead, two hospitalised
One person was killed and two others were hospitalised with gunshot wounds following a shooting at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Dallas on September 24, authorities said.
The shooter, who opened fire from an adjacent building, is also dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem confirmed, Caliber.Az reports, citing US media.
“The preliminary investigation determined that a suspect opened fire at a government building from an adjacent building. Two people were transported to the hospital with gunshot wounds. One victim died at the scene. The suspect is deceased,” the Dallas Police Department said.

At least two of the victims are detainees at the ICE facility, according to law enforcement officials. No ICE officers were reported injured. Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons said the situation remains fluid, and the motive is still unknown.
This marks at least the third attack on ICE or Border Patrol facilities in Texas this year. Previous incidents include a bomb threat at the Dallas ICE facility in August and a shooting at a Border Patrol facility in McAllen, Texas, in July.
Authorities have said the Dallas facility remains on lockdown while investigations continue. A news conference is expected later September 24.
Footage from the scene shows a significant police response near the facility, including nearby buildings and plazas being shut down as law enforcement secured the area.

U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance reacted to the incident that occurred at the ICE facility in Dallas, Texas.
"The obsessive attack on law enforcement, particularly ICE, must stop," he said.
