Shooting in Kazakhstan’s Turkistan Region leaves one dead, several injured
On the morning of November 4, reports emerged on social media about a shooting in Kazakhstan’s Turkistan region (southern Kazakhstan), which resulted in one fatality, Zakon.kz reports.
According to circulated information, on November 2, 2025, an armed attack involving firearms took place in the village of Kokterek, leaving a 17-year-old boy dead, while a 22-year-old and a 30-year-old man sustained injuries.
The press service of the Turkistan Regional Police Department confirmed the incident.
“In the early hours of November 2, a firearm-related incident occurred in the Tulkubas district. As a result, one person died and three others were taken to a medical facility where they are receiving necessary treatment. The district police leadership and an investigative team promptly arrived at the scene. During operational measures, the suspects were quickly identified, and one of them has been detained,” police said in a statement.
A criminal case has been launched under the article “Murder.” Investigative actions are underway to determine all the circumstances of the incident, and the search for the second suspect continues.
The progress of the investigation remains under special supervision by the leadership of the Turkistan Regional Police Department.
