Shootout ends with seven people wounded in Türkiye's Malatya

Seven people were injured in an armed incident in the Battalgazi district of Malatya province, Türkiye.

The suspect, identified as Miraç A., first opened fire on Mert Y. at his workplace, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media. 

He then fired several shots from a hunting rifle at a nearby teahouse where Mert Y. attempted to take cover.

The attack left Mert Y. and six other individuals in the teahouse injured. All seven received first aid at the scene before being transported to various hospitals in Malatya for further treatment.

Police swiftly apprehended the suspect, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
