Shootout in Iran's Zahedan leaves two militants dead, one detained PHOTO

A shootout between intelligence officers of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and members of the Jaish al-Adl (Jaish al-Zolm) group took place in Zahedan, the capital of Sistan and Baluchestan province.

According to Tasnim news agency, security forces spotted a suspicious vehicle while patrolling University Street. When they attempted to inspect the vehicle, armed individuals inside opened fire.

Two militants were killed in the ensuing exchange of fire, while another was wounded and detained by security forces.

The incident took place early Friday in the University Street area, where Iranian media also reported an armed confrontation lasting around two hours.
