SHOT: Russian sailors stranded on vessel in Iran

A group of Russian sailors has been stranded aboard a ship in an Iranian port, unable to disembark and reportedly unpaid for several months.

The sailors signed a four-month contract with an Iranian company six months ago. Almost immediately, the employer began delaying their wages, Caliber.Az reports via SHOT.

When the contract ended, and the vessel arrived at Amirabad port, the crew were reportedly barred from going ashore.

“Ultimately, the sailors are still not receiving their pay and remain confined for unclear reasons. They were previously told that relief crews might arrive in December, after which they would be released,” the source said.
