Shot: Ukraine attempts Moscow strike with Liutyi long-range drones
The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) reportedly attempted to strike Moscow using their longest-range drones, the Liutyi.
The drone type used in the attempted attack was reported by the Telegram channel Shot.
Preliminary information indicates that the capital was targeted by Liutyi drones, the longest-range unmanned aerial vehicles available to the AFU. Each drone weighs 200 kilograms and can deliver a 75-kilogram warhead over a distance of up to 1,000 kilometres.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin stated that all drones heading toward the city were intercepted by air defence systems.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defence reported that on the night of December 10 to 11, a total of 40 drones were shot down over the Moscow region, including 32 drones that were heading for the capital.
