Slovakia initiates detailed talks with Croatia on oil transit
Slovakia has embarked on negotiations with Croatia regarding the transit of oil from alternative sources through Slovak territory, marking a significant step in securing its energy supplies.
Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Minister Juraj Blanar disclosed the development, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
He emphasized Slovakia's commitment to obtaining a reliable and affordable oil supply. "Securing a sufficient amount of oil at an acceptable price is a priority for us," Blanar stated after discussions with Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Radman in Bratislava.
Blanar noted that the negotiations are currently occurring at the company level, with Slovak and Croatian companies working to finalize the necessary contracts for oil transit. “Our Croatian colleagues are engaged in negotiations at the business level to establish the appropriate agreements,” he said.
Despite these ongoing discussions, Blanar clarified that no formal agreements have been signed yet. This means there is currently no finalized deal in place for the transit of energy resources from Croatia through Slovakia. The lack of a concrete agreement highlights the preliminary stage of the negotiations and the need for further work to secure a definitive arrangement.
