Sochi airport diverts 15 flights due to temporary restrictions

As many as fifteen flights departing from Sochi Airport were diverted to alternate airports due to temporary flight restrictions, the airport said in a statement on its Telegram channel.

“Due to temporary operational limitations, crews of 15 flights were instructed to divert to alternate airports, including Makhachkala, Nalchik, Mineralnye Vody, Vladikavkaz, Grozny, and Astrakhan,” the statement said.

The airport confirmed it is operating according to the actual schedule, with passenger check-in open and aircraft being serviced on the apron.

Authorities added that they are working closely with partner airlines to expedite the departure of delayed flights.

“Sochi Airport emphasises that over the next two days, airlines may adjust schedules through rescheduling, cancellations, or flight combinations,” the statement added.
