Son-in-law of Prosperous Armenia leader arrested over contract killing
Argam Abrahamyan, son of former Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan and son-in-law of Prosperous Armenia Party leader Gagik Tsarukyan, has been remanded in custody for two months.
Abrahamyan is accused of ordering a contract killing committed in Yerevan on April 30, 2023, Caliber.Az reports per Armenian media.
According to Armenia’s Investigative Committee, Abrahamyan, a former head of the Artashat community and former member of the National Assembly, suspected his wife of having a relationship with a pastor of the religious organization Christians of Evangelical Faith and of transferring large sums of money to him.
Seeking revenge, he decided to have the pastor killed, allegedly involving an employee of his security service in the plot.
