Son of controversial lawyer Elman Pashayev arrested in major fraud case
On June 15, Telegram channel Mash reported that the son of controversial lawyer Elman Pashayev has been arrested in connection with an alleged large-scale real estate fraud case.
According to the report, 26-year-old Elvin Pashayev has been held in pre-trial detention since February and has been formally charged with fraud on an especially large scale.
Court materials indicate that the investigation began in the autumn of 2025, when a criminal case was opened under a murder charge following the disappearance of an apartment owner in Moscow. The individual was later found dead.
Investigators believe that the apartment in question later became linked to Elman Pashayev. Law enforcement authorities allege that in 2024, while in the zone of the special military operation, he arranged for the property to be registered in the name of a serviceman. After his own arrest, he allegedly persuaded the serviceman to transfer ownership of the apartment to his son.
As a result, Elvin Pashayev became involved in the investigation. However, at this stage, he has only been charged under the article related to fraud.
Elman Pashayev is currently standing trial in Donetsk in a separate criminal case, where he is accused of receiving large sums of money in exchange for promises to influence the outcome of high-profile court proceedings.
